Drexel University Habitat for Humanity

We will be holding a general body meeting tonight, 6 PM in conference room D (basement of Creese). New members are welcome, as always. Come learn about our upcoming events for end of October and November.

Our sign-up page is now up-to-date with events through the next few weeks. The next two events are canning on 10/15 and a restore day on 10/16

A big thanks to those who participated in our first canning session – we collected over $450, a great start to our $5,000 fund raising goal for the year.

Hello New and and returning Habitmembers,

As promised…here are the minutes:

FALL FUNDAISING EVENTS:

1. Canning: Friday, October 1 from 4-6 pm at 30th St. Station. Please meet at the Habitat office no later than 3:45 pm to get the group together and to get your GREEN Habitat T-Shirt. For a full description or to sign up for the event go to www.signup.duhabitat.org.

2. Rake-A-Thon: This coalition fundraiser is a two part event in which we advertise (flyering), and rake lawns (raking). We will be traveling to Chestnut Hill from the end of October through the month of November to advertise and engage in our fundraiser. We rake homeowners’ lawns for a donation price, which will go towards the builds we do throughout the year. The dates for the event are listed below, and each day is scheduled from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Freshmen will be able to receive CCE credit for their volunteer time. Sign up for the event will be up over the weekend.

1st BUILD

The build this Saturday Oct 2 is FULL. We will be having other builds throughout the term and will be informing you of these dates in upcoming e-mails.

Also, please remember that you MUST engage in a volunteer activity (canning, raking, flyering) before you will be able to attend a build. If you are signed up for the build this Saturday and cannot make the canning event on Friday, please contact us at contact@duhabitat.org.
