Habitat will be holding a potluck BBQ tomorrow at Buckley Green from 5-7:30. Please come out for some food and good company. If you can bring a dessert, great, we’ve got the burgers covered already. WKDU will be doing the music. If anyone can help out around 4:30, please shoot me an email (kb353@drexel.edu)
Meetings this term will be held at 8 PM on Tuesdays. The location for the first few weeks will be 2020 MacAlister. This week’s meeting is a GBM, so all are welcome to come out and learn about our Spring term events.
We will hold a bake sale this Sunday from 7-10 pm. Please see the signup page for more info. (signup.duhabitat.org). We need volunteers to run the table and to bake goodies.
We have a build day this coming Saturday in Salem Co. Sign-up is already available at signup.duhabitat.org. We still need 4-5 people and one driver.
Our next GBM will be held this Tuesday in the usual place (conf. room D, Creese). We have a limited agenda this week, so its a great meeting to come to if you have ideas you would like to share or questions you want answered. Since it is getting towards midterms, we will try to keep it short and sweet.
Habitat will be participating in Dragon Day this year, and the event is being held on Thursday 1/21 from 12-3. Our dragon turned out awesome, so come out and have a look, and most importantly vote for your favorite. If anyone would like to help with the presentation from 11-3 feel free to email (contact@duhabitat.org). The event is to be held in the Great Court of the Main Building.
Our winter term meetings have been scheduled for 9 PM on Tuesdays. GBMs will be held about 1-2 times a month in conf room D in the Greenawalt Student Center (basement of Creese) and Board meetings will be held on the off weeks in our office (3014 MacAlister). Today (1/5) will be a board meeting in the office, but all are welcome to come and give input for our schedule of events, builds and fundraisers.
New members are welcome and encouraged to get involved, as always. Any queestions, feel free to email: contact@duhabitat.org
Just a quick thanks for a great term. Our 5th annual rake-a-thon was a huge success this year. All together the coalition made over $6,000 for habitat. To all those who participated - great job!
Look for news in the beginning of the Winter term for our new meeting time, and place and of course info about the next big event: Shack-a-thon!
This coming weekend (Dec. 5/6th) is the final weekend for our fall Rake-a-thon fundraiser. This event helps us fund builds and trips such as ASB for the rest of the school year. This coming weekend we have a total of 19 homes to rake, and therefore need all the help we can possibly get. If you are not a member, no problem, participating in this event makes you eligable for future builds, and also qualifies as service hours for Civic Engagement. Snacks will be provided throughout the day, and logistical details (such as time and meeting place) can be found on our signup website (signup.duhabitat.org). Questions can be directed by email to contact@duhabitat.org.
I hope to see many of you out there! Both days should be a great time to socialize with Penn and Temple students as well as help Habitat towards it’s goals.
